Umbwe Route; is the most useful, tiniest congested route on mountain trekking. Although, the route is the most challenging route on climbing mountain. Umbwe is a sharp, continuous, straight while climbing to the top.
Umbwe is mostly escaped since the ascent profile doesn’t provide climbers more time to adjust to the altitude (acclimatization). However the success rate is very limited.
Umbwe route takes you six days minimum to reach the peak, though seven days is suggested. The descent is down to Mweka, from the south-east side of the mountain. Umbwe route is not as scenically as Machame, Lemosho and Shira, since the track up and down are close.
Umbwe route is supreme for a climber who wishes a challenges climbing adventure, while more self-confident for their ability to trek over steadily steep slopes. Furthermore, the route is for climbers who more skilled over altitude alteration while confident as the grueling roster of Umbwe route can not impede their capability to regulate upon the altitude. Umbwe route is for those climbers who wish a secluded hike.
This path does not offer the essential phases for acclimatization since the route is of the fast ascent to high altitude. Though the number of crew on this trail is very limited, the probabilities of success are also limited. The route is regarded to be very tough, tiring route - one of which only the strong hikers are recommended due to their ability to acclimatize fast as much as possible.
When getting from the south, the routes use to be short, sharp and straight climbing. After getting at Barranco Camp, the path turns east and traverses beneath Kilimanjaro's Southern Ice Field on a track known as the Southern Circuit before summiting from Barafu. Descent is made via the Mweka route.

ROUTE ITINERARY

Upon arrival, you will meet with our guide at the airport. Your guide will drive you towards the assigned hotel for overnight at Moshi town. You will have some little rest whereby after some little rest you will meet with your guide to brief you on your upcoming trek and hiking gears check in so as to be assured that all necessary equipment’s you have them while having more time to buy or rental whatever will be missing.

Get your drive and heading to Umbwe Gate of Kilimanjaro National Park (1,640m). Stopover for registration formalities in a mean while once finalized the permits starts climbing. Stopover to Umbwe Camp (2,930 m) for your first mountain overnight stays while enjoying a little rest and hot dinner. The trail drives over rainforest with prospect of rain showers get in touch with your raincoat.

• Do not drink any alcohol and get little caffeine intake.

In a midnight about 01.00Am you will get off from Barafu camp (4,640m) towards Uhuru Peak (5,895 m). The trail holds the easy walk despite of altitude challenges on trekking. We assign on each two hikers within a group to be accommodated with guide whom will be in charge to ensure effectiveness in monitoring climber’s fitness. Get stopover at Uhuru peak for some rest while enjoying a little walk of Paranomic view of the peak dispersed with glaciers before getting back to Barafu Camp for a 2-hour rest, while retaining energy to descent at Millennium Camp (3,820 m).
Note: It has been recommended that mostly 90% accidents use to occur as descent brings relief from high altitude. Get just be keen to watch your steps.

Get descending down from Millennium Camp over a rain forest in a lower altitude associated relief from any effects of altitude sickness where you will stopover for some rest, get worm water while getting ready for the last leg of the drive to Mweka Gate (1,640 m), where you will be awarded climbing certificates and drive back to Hotel for a fresh shower have celebrates with soft drinks and ready to flight back home.
